What an affiliate link actually is
An affiliate link is an ordinary link with a small tag on the end that tells the retailer we sent you. If you buy, the retailer pays us a slice of what they already make on the sale.
The commission comes out of the retailer’s pocket, not yours. Your price, your delivery, your warranty and your returns are all unchanged.
We’re a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, and as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. We also work with a small number of other retailers and brands on the same basis.
Our reviews aren’t for sale
This is the part that matters most to us, so we’ll be blunt about it.
No brand can pay us for a good review. We don’t accept payment, commission, free products, gifts, travel, hospitality or any other inducement in exchange for a positive opinion, a ranking or a recommendation.
Our writers choose what to cover and what to say about it. If something isn’t worth your money, we’ll say so, even when there’s a commission attached. If we think you’d be better off with a cheaper option, or keeping the one you already own, we’ll say that too.
Where a company has given us a product to test, or paid for an article to appear, we tell you clearly at the top of that page. You’ll never have to guess.
How we choose what to recommend
We start with the question our readers are actually asking, then look for the answer. Whether a product happens to carry a commission doesn’t come into that decision.
We’re not able to test everything ourselves, so some of our guides draw on published research, manufacturer information, expert opinion and reader experiences. When that’s the case, we say where the information came from.
Prices, features and availability change often, so please check the current details on the retailer’s own site before you buy.
Why we do it this way
The commissions help pay our writers and keep My Seniors World free to read. They’re one of the reasons we can keep publishing without putting our articles behind a paywall.
